Richard P. Allison was born on May 16, 1949, in Grenada, Mississippi, played football and baseball at John Rundle High and graduated in 1967. He then went on to graduate from Delta State University in 1972 with a BBA in Business and a minor in Criminal Justice.
Initially employed by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, he was later hired by the Mississippi Medical Board where he worked as Chief Investigator until retirement in 1998. After state retirement, Richard briefly served as the manager of the Fraud unit at a local, large health insurer. Subsequently, hired as a Loss Prevention Investigator for a nationwide shoe retailer and later promoted to Director of Loss Prevention for the company. Richard completely retired in December of 2013, in Mississippi where he continues to write novels.
