Why did life have to be so difficult at times?

Zoe never imagined she would find herself having to choose between two men—or should she say angels. As exciting as that sounds, the need to make a decision is tearing her apart. Does she choose the irresistible one who ignites her body with his passionate kisses, or the wild, untamed one?

Orion found his fated mate the second he saw her in the reflecting pool. He knows that Zoe wants him—but, he isn’t the only one that she wants. His nemesis, Mercury, is her co-guardian and is vying for her attention. Mercury is a rebel—wild and untamed. As co-guardian to Zoe, he feels the need to protect the sexy human woman he has been assigned to. The trouble is he wants more, but he isn’t the only one.

Zoe wants both men, but not all angels will share. Torn between the two angels, she must choose only one. Who will capture her heart—and will the other accept her decision as final?

Excerpt:

Zoe placed her hand on his arm with a smile. She felt the hidden strength of tight muscles beneath his grey and white striped shirt. “Walking is fine. It’s a nice night.”

“Yes, it is,” Orion agreed, leading them across the street and in through the double doors of the standalone coffee shop. After heading to the counter, they retrieved their drinks and settled for a table in the corner by a window.

“This is really nice,” Zoe said, placing her drink on the round wooden table. “Oh, thank you,” she added, dropping down onto the seat Orion swept out for her. Zoe glanced outside briefly, admiring the night sky before returning her attention to Orion.

They started the conversation with a bit of background history, sharing how long they’d been in the area, and other small talk when Orion interjected: “It was fortunate we met, specifically since you said you were on a date with a gentleman caller.”

Zoe smirked. “Oh, you mean the guy I was with. Yeah.”

“I take it things didn’t go well,” Orion said. They looked at each other in the brief silence. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to pry.”

“Oh no. That’s okay. It didn’t.” Zoe paused for a moment, contemplating if she should say what was on her mind. She decided to be bold and speak up. “I know this is going to sound like a pick up line, but I have to know. What’s a handsome man like you doing single, or are you, really?”

Kim is stuck in a desperate situation – one she never thought she’d wind up in.  Her husband has given up.  Kim wants her freedom but she’s scared of the unknown.  To find true, lasting love is her dream but is it possible?

Little does Kim know who she seeks is searching for her.

Aeron loved and dated.  But he never found the right one. As leader and founder of the Guardian League and co-protector of his charge, his responsibilities kept him active; however, something was missing.  His life wasn’t complete.

He sought a perfect, unique combination:  fiery and spirited with the right mix of nice vs. naughty.  But this elusive minx was nowhere to be found.  Until the day an enchanting vision caught his eye and he walked straight into a line of people awaiting coffee and beignets.    Now that he’s found her, he’s unwilling to let her go.  But does Kim have the strength to trust again?

Wow.  Did Aeron say-did he mean-uh- what exactly was that?  He was handsome, hell yeah, but there was also something unique and special about him she could’t put her finger on though she’d love to do that and more and that was the problem.  Kim was having great difficulty acting unbothered by whatever it was he possessed that made her want to take him to a dark room in the back of the boat and have her way with him.  However, she was confused by his statement and unsure if it was a compliment or a come-on.  If she was single, she’d welcome any type of praise from him but Tom was in the restroom and she wasn’t sure how to act around Aeron.

“And your other half?”

“Huh?”  She scrunched her nose.  What did he mean?  Inappropriate images of her naked rear up in the air passed through her mind.

“I meant you’re fifty percent Asian and what’s the other fifty percent.”

“Oh.”  A wave of relief passed through her.

“It’s split between British and Syrian.”

“Hmm, nice combination.”  He cupped his chin in the palm of his hand.

There he goes again.  What was she to make of it?

“And you?” Kim asked.  Aeron responded without hesitation.

“I’m all Angel.”

Kim burst into laughter while Aeron watched her, silent and devoid of amusement.  All angel, she mused.  He was more devilish than pure.  Regardless, he was comical.

“Seriously, what are you?”

“Probably a bit of a mutt,” he responded with a stellar grin.

Rayne Martin is a typical teen excited to go off to college. However, the school she chooses at random is anything but typical and she begins to doubt she will ever fit in at Brighton College. Rayne grew up in the Bible belt and attended church whenever her parents wanted her to. She considered herself to be a good Christian. When she truly commits to being a believer, she embraces the fact that she is a daughter of the King and therefore, Royalty.
Now God is calling on her to wage war against the demons and Satanists threatening to overrun Brighton. Rayne is sure He is mistaken. How can someone who has never even been in a fight lead in battle? Where will she find others willing to risk their lives to stand with her against such evil?

Excerpt:

“Someone’s coming! We don’t recognize the cars. What do we do?”

Rayne had considered over the time what to do if this ever happened, so she didn’t hesitate to jump to action. She didn’t have a choice now. She knew she couldn’t be seen, but prayed her plan would work. She climbed up on the platform and got everyone’s attention. She said, “Some people are coming. I need everyone to sit down and open your Bibles to Proverbs two and study wisdom. Pray those who are in the woods don’t come back before whoever it is leaves. If they’re questioned, everyone cover to say they were out hunting. Reverend, can you come up and lead them, please? I have to make myself scarce.”

Everyone got into a posture of study and prayer, while Rayne ran up the back stairs to hide in a closet behind some large tools. She prayed fervently her plan would work and she wouldn’t be discovered.

The time felt like it lasted for eons. She could hear multiple muffled voices. She couldn’t make out what any of them were saying. She wished she had a speaker system to eves drop on what was happening downstairs. She was growing inpatient when she heard several footfalls coming up the back stairs. Rayne held her breath and prayed. She heard different voices. One at a time called out from various places, “All clear!”

Her heart was pounding in her ears. She began to tremble as the voices came closer. Her breathing became ragged. The door to the closet she was hiding in, opened. She closed her eyes, again held her breath and was trying to stop the trembling. She prayed, Lord Jesus, hide me from their sight. Although the man seemed to be looking right at her, staring her in the eye, he said nothing.

The door closed and an “All clear!” was called out. She let out a long, slow breath, relaxed and tipped her head back to rest on the wall behind her. Rayne knew it was only God who hid her from view.

As she heard the footsteps retreat down the front stairs, she slid down to sit on the floor and laid her head in her hands. She began to cry from the flood of nerves and adrenaline that surged through her body. She waited a long time afterward, until she heard people calling out that she was safe to come out. Her legs had gone to sleep from so long in the same position. Rayne struggled to get to her feet. The door to the closet opened and one of the women sentries helped her up. She said, “Good thing no one checked this closet.”

Rayne asked what she meant.

“Well, if they had looked in here, you would have been discovered.”

“They did look in here.”

“And you were right here?”

“Yes, but I was standing.”

“How did they not see you?”

“I thought he did, but these tools must have kept me hidden.”

“They couldn’t have.”

Rayne smiled and said, “Thank you, God! He obviously answered my prayer and hid me from their view.”

“You’re telling me you stood right here in front of him and he didn’t see you? Do you think he did but acted like he didn’t to tell everyone later?”

“I never saw recognition in his eyes. It was though he was looking through me.”

Reviews:Sarah E. Bradley on InD'tale magazine wrote:

INSPIRATIONAL: Rayne Martin was raised in the Bible belt and went to church as everyone expected her to. However, it isn’t until she chooses a random college far from home that she truly decides whether to believe or not. Unbeknownst to Rayne, the college she chose is in a town full of demons, satanic worshipers, and witches of all kinds. After some of the Christian believers in town rescue her from danger, she truly embraces God for the first time and sees herself as the daughter of the King. Called to lead the faithful against the evil forces taking over town, Rayne isn’t sure if a new Christian and teenage girl like herself has what it takes to defeat such wickedness, but if she isn’t willing to try, more than just lives will be lost — it will be their souls, too.

“Royalty” is a story of self-discovery and Christianity mixed in with some paranormal elements. The characters in the book are clear-cut and the plot has plenty of development, with lots of scriptures mixed in. The romance is a bit of roller coaster, with Rayne uncertain whether to like or hate the hero, but the romance stays at a mild but sweet level. However, the story also has several time skips, with many things happening off-screen and told by the author rather than shown. The plot is also a bit predictable. Still, “Royalty” is an interesting take on Christian fiction, with enough action to make for an exciting read.

Her eyes locked with those of a beautiful male with gold wings at his back.  His grip tightened and he smiled, a radiant glow framing his entire body.  Where was she?  She laid her head on the pillow and closed her eyes.  Wait.  She jolted with a start and jerked her head at the man who should’ve been on the cover of GQ if not Playgirl.  This man was gorgeous.  Inexplicably handsome, he could’ve been anywhere but, instead, he was sitting next to her, concern etching worry lines across his forehead, forming wrinkles around his sensual mouth and his eyes, on her, watchful with something else clouding over them she couldn’t quite pinpoint.  Its traits presented like sadness, wistfulness, possibly regret but how could that be?  He didn’t know her and they had no connection.  His hand shot out when she tried scooting up in the bed.

All seventeen-year-old Kathrin Walsh wanted when she transferred to a school for the Gifted was to feel accepted and normal, and she does... mostly. But when dreams of another boy make her question her relationship, kids go missing, and she learns something troubling about what she is and why her future will forever be altered, she quickly realizes that 'normal' is only an illusion, and that love can walk a fine line between captivating and maddening, or even worse - it can make you abandon all trace of reason. Love can be deadly.
From the bestselling author of the Alyx Rayer Chronicles, comes a refreshingly different Young Adult series with plenty of love, suspense, and a new take on the Paranormal.

Excerpt:

While Anna snored with her headphones in, I paced by the window like a caged lion wishing to be freed. My lungs were constricting from the stagnant air in this room – this small room that was closing in on me with every passing minute. I paused, stared out into the woods – the cool, spacious woods.
I then thought of him. If my admirer had visited last night, he hadn’t left a flower. I had talked myself out of being disappointed all day, for mine and Levi’s sakes. I hadn’t dreamt of him last night, either. Did that mean something? Part of me wished it did, but part of me wished it didn’t. A bigger part of me wished it didn’t.
I stepped closer to the window and sighed, wishing to be free and inside the woods… with him. With that feeling he gave me. At this excruciating, claustrophobic moment, nothing in the world sounded better.

color: #000000"> I gnawed on my lip with my eyes closed, an idiotic idea brewing inside me. No way. I would be the biggest moron in the world if I tried to escape to the woods tonight. With people being abducted and police everywhere, it was too risky.
I glanced at my tennis shoes by the closet and back to the window. Which would win? My insatiable desire to feel free and feel him, or my reasoning. And Levi - venturing into the woods would be a step in the opposite direction of where I was trying to take our relationship.
Shit. Shit, shit, shit. This should have been an obvious, easy decision.
And then I felt it – that pull. That pull I couldn’t deny. The itch in my heart longing to be scratched; as if a piece inside of me belonged there in the woods.
I went for my shoes.

Excerpt:

A light rain swept in, pinging against the tin roof in a soothing melody. Yet, even with a full belly and a cozy bed, I couldn’t manage to fall sleep.
The smell of mom’s pan-seared steak and roasted potatoes filled the air, a smell that made this brand new cabin feel more like a home, though it still didn’t feel like mine. Like I was just a visitor and would be leaving tomorrow with my parents to return to my real home where Sam and my cat Tinkles would be waiting for me.
My heart clenched at the thought. I couldn’t believe mom and dad were leaving tomorrow…
Funny how yesterday I’d wished they hadn’t come along, and now I wish they could stay forever.
I rolled to my side and pinched my eyes shut. A tear escaped and wetted my pillow. Quit torturing yourself.

This was my life now. Here, with hybrid immortals like me. With my friends. With Gabe.
Gabe.
I pressed my hand against the wall; only wood and space separated us. If I were sure I wouldn’t get in trouble for being out after dark, I’d slip out of bed and sneak over to his cabin. Dad’s snores below made it pretty clear he was fast asleep. And when he was out, he was out.
But I could wait until tomorrow to see Gabe again… I think. I just needed his arms around me.

Centurion has it all.  A talented charge, ladies at his disposal for a single encounter or more and access to all the coffee he wants once he lands on Earth.  Plus, he’s second in command of the volunteer band of angels called the Guardian League.  The one thing he never wanted was an intimate relationship with a human beyond the usual angel-charge boundaries.

So when he finds a woman as strong and hot as the human beverage that tickles his fancy, what else can he do but pursue her until he figures out what to do with her.

April loves her enticing, hunky angel but he’s a lot to handle.  He’s cocky, unpredictable but most of all… incorrigible.

What is she to do with a male who lives life by his own schedule?

Can April and Centurion form a compromise and allow love to bind them together?  Or will Centurion’s inability to commit wedge them apart, forever?

Out of the thirty females gathered, only five were interested in her jewelry. The others twenty-five were interested in the stranger; some even asked April if she knew him or knew anything about him. Goodness! This was an art show, not a manhunt. You’d never know by the way these women were on the prowl.

She peeked at him in between helping her customers and each time she found him watching her. Her heart beat picked up every time she caught him. Why did he continue staring at her? Oh god no! Was he a Ted Bundy? She had enough looney tune men in her life and wasn’t searching for another. She snuck a peek his way and found him. There he was again, looking at her. This time, he smiled. It should’ve been creepy but instead, it exhilarated her, had her insides quivering and her heart turning flip-flops. She swore every time he grinned at her, her toes curled and her inner thighs trembled. What was wrong with her? He was handsome, but good god! You’d think she was a virgin—which she wasn’t. Not that she had a sordid past complete with loads of sex but she wasn’t a prude either.

She turned to the strange male. “I’m sorry, uh–¬uh…”

“Centurion,” he said, holding some earrings up toward the overhead light.

“I’m not sure when I’ll be done.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll wait.”

He was tenacious, she’d give him that. There was some reason he kept hanging around but it wasn’t to buy jewelry and she wasn’t interested in dating. She hadn’t found the right man yet and she doubted this Greek god, this Thor among men was the one. He was probably “full of himself” expecting all women to cater to his needs because he was good-looking and desirable, just like her ex. He was in for a rude awakening.

She was finally able to break away. “Listen, mister.” She walked up and called out to him at the same time.

“Centurion.”

“Are you really interested in jewelry or are you interested in something else?” She placed her hands on her hips. He was laughing. How rude.

“I really like this one.” Centurion pointed to the first necklace he looked at. It was part of a set.

“What do you like about it?”

“The name of it is intriguing. Serenity, an Angel’s present. Tell me, do you believe in Angels?” Centurion leaned over the table.
