Here’s the thing about revenge – if it’s served too hot, there’s a good chance you’ll get burned. Now that my friends and I are back in New America and surrounded by the monsters who did this to us, we’re finding it harder and harder to contain our venomous hatred for them.
The next stage of our mission is for Luxxe to train.
To keep our cool.
Execute the plan.
But as emotions run high and plans start unraveling at the seams, we begin questioning if we’re the right ones for the job… and it may just cost us everything.
If you love fast-paced Dystopian reads with tough-as-nails heroines and traces of humor and heart, this one's for you.
It seems like an eternity before we see the first sight of land – a string of mountains, like a row of jagged, broken teeth, rising above the horizon. Beyond them lie our former lives and homes and friends-made-enemies. A twisted sense of longing sweeps through me. My most wonderful and horrible memories lie beyond that ridgeline ahead.
But the homesickness is short-lived when I realize more memories are about to be made there, and a stronger feeling overcomes me, washes over me in a merciless wave – excitement laced with unease. In the next few weeks, we could make history, change everything around for the better. But we have to stay focused and keep cool. Play our parts and do as we were ordered without fail. Otherwise, everything we’ve done, that Blythe and her brother-in-law and Harvey have done, will be in vain.
The idea immediately humbles me.

This was a good, quick read. The story is interesting and didn't take long at all to capture my interest. The author does a nice job laying out the details and setting up the plot. I will read the next book in this series because I want to know what happens to these characters.
Spectacle is a fantastic story of survival and friendship. The story is fast paced with great characters who I quickly became invested in. The authors descriptive writing allows the reader to easily visualize where the story is taking place. It may be tagged in the YA genre but I am 46 and loved it. I look forward to seeing where Mira's journey leads in the next book.
