Chris and Lexi Denton led what they considered a normal life. Lexi worked as a dance instructor at a local studio, and Chris was a successful broker at a firm in downtown Miami, Florida. When Chris gets entangled with a crime boss who utilizes his talent for numbers to cover up deadly secrets, the pair soon discover much more than just Carlos Mandini's dark secrets, they discover their own. Chris and Lexi Denton are not who they believed.

Excerpt:

Chris was suddenly aware of one of Mandini’s cars beside them on the right. “Lex, look out on the right.” At that, Lexi became the aggressor and eased to the right toward the car.
“What are you doing?” Chris grabbed at the top of the dashboard.
Lexi nudged the other car with the side of theirs, scraping the paint, and throwing sparks as they drove with metal on metal at their high rate of speed. She was pushing them off the right side of the road.
Chris shouted, “Lex, look out! There’s no shoulder there!”
As the words escaped his mouth, she gave one more shove and with that, the other car went over an embankment and down a ravine. He looked quickly behind them in time to hear an explosion and see a plume of smoke lift into the air. This could not be his life. He knew this could not be his wife.
“Lex, pull this car over, now!” he demanded.

As the words were rolling off his tongue, he felt a hard shift in his body and felt himself go commando.
It was almost vertigo. His mind side-slipped and remembered everything now. Everything.
“There’s one more,” he said. His words sounded mechanical coming out of his mouth, as if someone else had taken over, something as eclipsing as the moon over the sun.
“I know. I see them.”
Chris relaxed his grip on the handle and the dash, and a military peace of being in control came over him.
Lexi deliberately shot after the remaining car that had been chasing them. It was now on their left. She pulled up beside them and paced with them, then hit her breaks, slipping behind and shot up their left side. The goon in the backseat was lowering his window when Lexi pulled the same maneuver and came again up the sedan’s right side.
Chris’ eyes were now the same color as Lexi’s, charcoal black. He pulled out the Glock and didn’t bother asking her to roll down her window. There were three men in the sedan. The glass exploded next to Lexi, but if any cut her there was no way to know it—her face didn’t even flinch.
It only took three shots.

I just finished Rogue by Laura Ranger and I absolutely loved it. The book was so full of twists and turns. Lexi is a sweet Ballet teacher and Jack is your normal run-of-the-mill accountant. Or are they?? Goverment experiments to trained killers, this book has it all. I loved the ending the most because of everything they were put through. I know I'm not making much sense but you will just have to read this spectacular book to find out what I'm trying to say. I was sad that it ended but so relieved that it did. LOVED it so much.

If you are tired of reading the same old story over and over ... this book is for you. If you want a story that will keep you on your toes, full of twists and turns ... this book is for you. Rogue is not what I would describe as a slow, easy read, and for that I am thankful! (There are way too many of the same me-too, slow stories out there!) The authors unfold Lexi and Chris' story in well-paced blocks, and I felt as if I experienced everything with them step by step. I don't want to give away the plot, but you will quickly see that this story isn't just another story about a couple on the run. This story was well - written and incredibly thought out, and I look forward to more work from these authors.

Just finished reading this book and while it is not a genre that I usually look for, I can say that I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride right up to the end. Plot twists galore. Great read for a day at the beach.

Chris and Lexi had been living a relatively normal life. Deeply in love and newly married, he worked in finance and she taught dance. The novel starts with a bang when they find themselves on the run, and the action escalates from there. Exciting action, plot twists, and mystery make this a page turner from the first word through the climactic end. What makes the story rich and endearing, on top of being a movie-worthy thriller, is the way the characters meet the challenge of finding out who they really are, and how they grow in unexpected ways. I couldn’t put it down.
