This novella is meant to be read after Captivate Me.

Their angelic origins give them power. Their blood is why we hunt them.

Set before the events in Book One of the Captivated Series, Iris explores the depths of family bonds, new bonds, and the lengths a person would go to save the life of a dying sibling. In this novella, get to know Iris and her two sisters more intimately, as well as Gabriel, the first angel-human hybrid who agrees to live under her protection.

“The nurse has to go,” I whispered to Lilliana as she poured us both a glass of red wine. I didn’t want him here. We could care for our sister just fine.
“That’s the lesser of the battles, sis,” she replied, and then took a sip.
I nodded in agreement. We still needed to convince Rose to do the ritual. Hastily, I downed the wine, its warm sting coating my belly. Today, I needed something stronger than my elixirs.
Our conversation lapsed into silence as Claude placed our lunches in front of us – seared scallops over pasta.
“Besides,” she continued once he’d left. “Whatever the nurse is here to do, I’m sure it’ll help make her comfortable. We don’t want her to be in pain while she makes up her mind.”
I shot her a look that could kill.
“Jesus, sis… this isn’t a time for a debate between modern and holistic medicines.”
She refilled my glass, and I took another gulp. He could give her whatever he wanted; I

d give her my own medicines too. All of this would be irrelevant anyway once we’d convinced her to do the ritual. “So you sensed it too?” I asked to change the subject. “I could see her cracking. I think we have a shot at convincing her.”
“She would never do it to save herself, though. It would have to be for us.”
For a flicker of a moment, I realized convincing her to go against what she thought was wrong so we didn’t have to live without her was selfish, but then I thought, really thought of what life would be like without her and the painful death she was facing, and I didn’t care. “I know. We’ll have to explain to her how-” my voice broke, and I stared into my glass. I’d wondered when the all-too-familiar wave of grief would hit. It consumed me now, wrapping me in a hollow ache. I filled my glass to the brim so I could numb it.
“How much she means to us,” she supplied, her own voice breaking, “How the three of us can’t be apart.”

Iris was an enjoyable read and although they are the bad people in the overall storyline, I liked getting to know them better.
