Sybilla Sanborn must break a centuries-old curse before everything she cares about goes up in smoke.

Sybilla is a nurse gifted with the ability to heal with her touch but cursed with visions of future tragedies she cannot prevent because no one heeds her warnings. With help from the mediums of the spiritualist town of Cassadaga, Florida, she learns she is descended from both the first person executed for witchcraft in this country and the man who accused her.

Conn Ahern is an Iraq war vet dealing with pain and PTSD while working as a paramedic and struggling to save the ranch his grandmother founded. He’s an atheist who wants nothing to do with the people of the town.

When Conn and Sybilla meet, sparks fly, but not always in a good way, and their relationship fans the flames of jealousy and revenge in someone who doesn’t want them to work things out.

During a séance, her ancestor’s spirit reveals how Sybilla can rid herself of the curse and save Conn, but the price may be too high.

Sybilla and Neelie left Jason’s house and headed to their building.
After they rode in silence for a few minutes, Neelie cleared her throat. “Why didn’t you explain what was going on?”
“I didn’t know what to say, and he reeked of alcohol. You can’t talk sense to a drunk. Maybe after he sobers up, I’ll be able to get through to him.”
Neelie’s eyes reflected concern. “Linda will tell him her side of the story. He’s liable to be so confused he won’t listen to you.”
“Well, I can’t do anything about that. Anyway, he was already mad at me for transferring my gifts to him, so I doubt she can do much more damage.” Sybilla rotated her shoulders, trying to ease the tightness in her muscles.
“At least we got her to admit she set fire to Conn’s barn.” Neelie rested her head against the seat.
Sybilla glanced over. “I’m sorry. This has been tough for you too. You’ve got enough to deal with, and I shouldn

t involve you in this mess.”
Her friend sat up. “Of course, you should. How else would we manage the fake séance?” She giggled. “Besides, I wouldn’t have missed the look on her stupid face when she discovered we pulled one over on her. Her eyes bulged out like a frog’s, and she croaked like one too.”
“Yeah, but we can’t prove she did it, so I don’t think her confession will do me much good. I’m still in trouble for both fires, and Conn wants nothing to do with me.”
Neelie’s expression turned serious. “Yeah, but Jason finally believes you.”
“So, I guess the curse is gone. I never thought he would agree to our suggestion, but after Elana talked to him and he realized I wasn’t the evil person he thought I was, he seemed to really want to help.”
“Somehow, you’ll acquire the proof you need. I’m sure you will.”
“I have to. It’s the only way to save myself.” She tightened her hands on the wheel.

Stuck in another time, Richard Langley just wants to find his way back home.

Richard, a former college professor, wanders a local neighborhood bookstore where he stumbles upon the find of a lifetime: a signed copy of Tamerlane and Other Poems. He's then swept to another era where he is alone, confused, and his only mission is to get back to where he came from.

While struggling to adapt to his nineteenth-century environment, Richard meets a man he must help exonerate from false accusations in order to restore history's original timeline and, ultimately, find his way back.

What Richard did not count on, was that man being the owner of the signature...

Edgar Allan Poe.

As Richard stood in front of the bedroom’s gold-plated mirror, he wondered how much money the owners actually had. It must’ve been a shit-load, even by his early twenty-first century standards. His eye had stopped bleeding but the cloth had been soaked-through and was in desperate need of changing. After pulling the bandage off, he felt the hair ripped from its follicles, figuring it more sanitary to keep it off. He remembered it tinged with rust-colored stains, and a musty odor when first applied. It disgusted him.
Accompanied by his oil lantern, Richard sat on the king-size bed. He remembered it from earlier and couldn’t believe the irony. As he peeled the covers to climb into bed, something dropped onto the floor. After reaching down beside the bed, he felt around and retrieved the object. His eyes struggled to see in the blanket of darkness. He held his lantern up, noticing the familiar book and title: Tamerlane and other poems, 1827. Copy two of fifty.

It looked like his book. It felt like his book. But in much better shape than he remembered. This particular copy looked like it had been printed yesterday. Upon closer inspection, he noticed the absence of any signature and no inscribed message was present. He struggled to recall what it said, something about an emerald lady. He hid the book underneath the mattress, concluding that it could be his ticket home and blew out the candle, wondering if he might awake in his own bed.

Old allies become enemies, as the Medici’s face betrayal.

Lorenzo must learn how to someday lead the Medici coven, and become a warrior as powerful as his father. He quickly discovers not everyone’s intentions towards the Medici’s are pure.

Sophia pursues a forbidden love and locks horns with her father, as Natalia prepares for her newly discovered destiny, and stumbles upon Shade’s long buried secret.

The Medici’s take on a new business venture in Italy and run straight into the Mafioso. Lorenzo and Alphie end up in a fatal battle between vampires and mortals.

In classic Emily Bex form, you will be absorbed into the drama that always surrounds the Medici’s. Jaws will drop and…

…someone will die.

Kate turned quickly to face him; her hands balled into fists. “There is a camp at Bel Rosso, and he had you at Bel Rosso, as well as Luca. What’s different? He’s a prince, and the heir to this coven. He has a rare gift that makes him a powerful threat. He’s the son of the warrior's warrior! Don’t tell me what he needs and doesn't need! He’s not yet a warrior, and he’ll always be my child. He’s not some pawn to be moved around on the chess board just to increase the size of your kingdom. When you lived here, you came home to your father. He’ll come home to nothing!"

Shade stopped pacing and locked eyes with her. "Understand this! I would never use any of our children as a pawn. This is our coven, and they protect all of us. They will fight long and hard to get through me before any fucking bastard is able to get near any of the children. The coven reveres the children, and understands their future lies in their survival. And the day Lorenzo walked into this camp, he became a warrior, plain and simple. He now rules here. This is his home, no longer mine. He will reign here. It is what he was born to do. He will never again live at Bel Rosso, woman, so you better fucking get that through your head. He belongs here now. A warrior does not have a protector. He will build a bond of brotherhood with his fellow warriors. Assigning him a protector sends a message he is weak. That he is not able to rise to power. Is that what you want? I am your king and master, and I still rule here. You will not do this to him, Kate. No!"

She was taken aback by his anger. They had never fought like this. They rarely fought at all since the early years when she was learning to adjust to this life. She covered her face with her hands and sobbed. He was her mate, and her master, but was this the right choice for their son? She’d known, since the day Lorenzo was born, that this was his destiny. He’d train at Castello, live at Castello, and she knew it would be hard to leave him. She’d hoped that ten years of preparing would have made it easier. Their children had led such secluded lives, never out of their view, or protection. She felt like her heart was breaking.

This is my favorite book in the series. I think it moved at a faster pace than previous volumes. I loved seeing Kate & Shade’s kids grow up and move into their roles as heirs in this unique family, especially Lorenzo who will someday rule the Medici coven. Natalia and Sophia’s roles are quite interesting as well and I can’t wait to see where all this ends in the next volume. Excellent character development by this author. A wonderfully woven story with many interesting surprises.

For over 500 years, ancient malice has festered within the shadows of the Amazon jungle.

The Brazilian Amazon is considered virgin. But is it, really? Ejup Mikic has quietly plotted world dominance with evil at its heart and soul. Now, he is ready to unleash his pent-up fury.

A secret team of select hunters, sponsored by those who would stop Ejup’s immoral spread, has tracked him to a jungle paradise in Brazil`s rainforest. The group encounters the Icamiabas tribe, which was believed to be extinct, and their queen, the red-eyed, drop-dead beauty, Itotia. One more group under Ejup Mikic’s sinister control.

As team members go missing, the team leader, Ana Carvalho, is irresistibly drawn to Itotia’s invitation to join the tribe. Ana learns what is asked of her. She knows what it means.

She would become Undead. Vrykolakas. Vampire.

“My name is Zreia,” she said in Portuguese. “A bonfire has been prepared in your honor and Itotia calls you to attend.” She held herself upright, her vibrant young body glistening in the reflecting torches. She couldn’t have been more than eighteen years old.

“We will come,” Ana replied and stood.

Aaron noticed the two young men staring at Zreia. “You will remember who you are and who you represent,” he said, knowing his words fell upon deaf ears. “Gentlemen!” he yelled and slapped each of them on an arm as he walked between them. It grabbed their attention but had little effect on their eyes.

“Two things. Hands off.” He nodded to Zreia then turned back to the young men. “And do not consume anything you don’t recognize.” He raised a hand for effect. “The natives know more about the indigenous plants and what they can or can’t do. Remember how I told you NOT to pee in the rivers and the reasons why? Don’t participate if you don’t know what you’re doing — you may gain more than you expected, just like the parasite who wandered up into your penis when peeing.” He smiled at them. “I’m not kidding.”

Paulo strolled up to Aaron and placed a friendly arm over his shoulder. “Listen well to the doctor, my young friends; he speaks well.” He shook a hand at them. “Do not smoke or drink anything, unless we do.” He pointed to one of his men. “Five years ago, Heitor woke up married with four kids. He now has nine.”

The two young men laughed.

“Is there a reason you are only telling them?” Barbara asked, looking directly at Aaron. “Does that mean we girls can party hardy?”

“I’ve not seen that many men,” Ana said picking up on the conversation. “But, the same thing goes for you. Be on your best behavior and leave any men alone.” She glanced at Megan who flushed a little in embarrassment.

“I really don’t know what came over me,” Megan said.

Neville leaned over to Aaron and elbowed him. “Don’t you find it peculiar there are very few men?” he whispered. “Have you seen any?”

Aaron shrugged. “It could be our presence is keeping them at bay. I don’t remember a single one.”

I took his hand and we shook. “Sorry I hacked into you with the Fiery Sword.”

He smiled, “Yeah, that did hurt like a son of a bitch.” Our eyes were locked; it wasn’t intimate, it was intimidating. It was like a chicken race and we were both hell-bent on not being the one to swerve first. “I can see it.”

“See what?”

“What Lucifer sees in you.”

Our grip dropped and I started stepping toward the door. I paused with my hand on the knob. “I’m surprised you didn’t mention mom.”

“Why?” He seemed bemused.

“Well, she was your sister too, right?”

He shrugged. “I hate to speak ill of the dead, but your mom was, pardon the irony, an unholy cunt. Hell for me was going to be having to listen to her prattle on for all eternity. From what I could tell, she was only loyal to three people: Lucifer, your dad, and your brother. Then again, she was insanely loyal to them.” He tapped his lip with his finger for a moment. “She was like a Cleveland Browns fan longing for the glory days of Jim Brown, idiotically believing this year will be their year. How were your parents as parents?”

I shrugged. “I’ve seen worse ones.”

“Your dad?”

I felt my head cock to the side just a bit. “He didn’t know how to pick a winning pony at the races.”

He laughed. “Nice allusion. Your mom? And the inequality of it all?”

“She needed a son that needed mothering. She got the shithead for that. Fuck knows he needs to be taken care of. So maybe it’s not that she was a bad mother to me but that I was a shit son for her.”

“That seems to be a very generous assessment on your part, Nick.”

I turned the knob. “No waiter that has ever had my table would call me generous.”

He laughed as I stepped out into the hall. “You are welcome anytime, Nick Decker.”

“No, I don’t,” she repeated with firmness. “And I don’t understand you. You’re risking your health by listening to all the Wisps at once.”

Adie chuckled.

“Why are you laughing?” Lexil huffed, frustration rising up her throat like a bad meal.

“My health is fine.”

“No, it isn’t. It can’t be. They said those who can’t filter Wisps—”

Nose twitching, she uttered, “That’s what I just said.”

“I can.”

Unfolding her arms, she flung her hands out. “But you said—”

Adie tapped her nose with a finger. “You mistake willingness and ability. I can filter all the Wisps I would like. Yet, I select a different path. Mine is my own.”

“A different…” She inhaled sharply. “For the—just answer a simple question, Adie!”

Adie rose and placed a hand on each of Lexil’s shoulders. “A simple statement. Those who wish to tune something out, and cannot manage to, suffer. Those who wish to embrace, and cannot, suffer. Those who want to listen, and can, thrive.”

She mulled this over before saying, “You mean…making the choice makes a difference?”

Adie winked, releasing her grip on Lexil’s shoulders. “True to life.”

As Adie bent to brush her fingers over a patch of grass poking through a flat section of dirt, Lexil spontaneously asked, “How old are you, Adie?”

Adie hopped over her matt and strolled away.

Canadian author Jenna Greene teaches middle school in Alberta, Canada and so it is rather natural that her books to date are for young adults – especially in the age group that Jenna teaches. She has published six books to date – IMAGINE, HEROINE, REALITY, HERITAGE, REBORN and now RENEW, Book 2 of the Reborn Marks series.

For readers new to both the author and have not enjoyed her Imagine Series it will come as a fine surprise that here is an author who knows how to weave spells the old-fashioned way and yet make her topics both contemporary and fantasy projected. As this is Book 2 of the Reborn Marks series, this reader would recommend reading Book 1, REBORN prior to entering this continuum. But this volume is so well written that it can successfully be a standalone.

The contagious manner in which Jenna relates this strange fantasy is grounded in reality – a factor that makes the ‘other world’ and incredible creatures held in place She summarizes this interesting concept and plot as follows: ‘Haunted by memories of those left behind, Lexil and Finn are forced to venture back into the Wastelands. The Unclaimed Cities are not the idyllic setting Lexil, Finn, and Ceera thought it would be. This new land has challenges of its own – which they soon discover. When Lexil and Finn return to the Wastelands, they are accompanied by Kaylen, someone they can’t decide is a friend or foe. As they retrace their path, they meet up with old allies and enemies, and encounter other treachery embedded in the Wastelands. The trio are forced to face their own assumptions, prejudices, and fears. In the end, to change her fate and alter the destiny of all other Reborns. Lexil must decide what she is willing to risk, of herself and others,’

The writing is solid and definitely directed toward the younger set, but that is yet another reason why the book works well. If authors can conjure books that attract youngsters to read, then we must bow to them in thanks. Reading Jenna Greene results in that old urge to sit on a park bench and just gaze and chat about all the possible variations of ‘world’ there are/can be!

Anthony Avina on Amazon wrote:

A heart-pounding and exhilarating new chapter in a fantastic dystopian YA series. The author does a great job of focusing on themes of freedom and survivor’s guilt early on in the narrative, exploring the new world of the Unclaimed Cities as Lexil, Finn, and Kaylen are caught in the middle of a combative and explosive situation with the Reborn Council of Elders, highlighting the new laws that they must face. The balance of this new world with the world that they escaped, and for which they must now venture back into, makes this novel feel like a natural and exciting sequel to the first novel.

Yet it's the evolution of Lexil as she showcases a well-rounded and thrilling journey of a young woman surviving after escaping enslavement to becoming a leader and heroine who must risk everything she has fought for in order to save others. This novel cements her heroic journey and highlights the shifting landscape of this dystopian world that blends realism with sci-fi and fantasy elements.

An action-packed, shocking, and heart-pounding dystopian YA thriller, author Jenna Greene’s “Renew” is a must-read novel. The perfect beach read for any dystopian or YA fan, the author draws the reader into the protagonist’s struggle and highlights her bond with bot Finn and Kaylen, as well as others, which gives her the strength to endure this hero’s journey. By the book’s end, readers will be on the edge of their seats as the shocking cliffhanger leaves them eager for the next chapter of this narrative. Jovie is a very brave girl, she is not afraid of anything! There are a few things that make her uneasy, like math tests and making new friends. As she struggles through life help comes from the most unlikely of places, the monster that lives under her bed!

Jovie peaked around the corner, but no one else was alone. She saw another group of people she knew but they all talked and laughed together and there just did not seem to be enough room in the conversation for her.

Jovie leaned against the wall again and looked up. Hanging from the rafters was a large, black bat. Jovie flinched as the thing dropped to the ground, flipped in midair, and landed with a gentle thump with a flap of its enormous fleshy wings.

Jovie whipped her head around, looking to see if anyone saw the thing, but the rest of the students were in their own world and didn’t seem to notice.

The bat opened its mouth and breathed heavy. Holding its wings to each side, it sauntered forward, black eyes locked onto Jovie.

“Are you here to help me make friends?” Jovie asked.

The bat froze, looking confused.

“Uh…uh,” it sputtered, then said, “Joan told me you might need a little scaring before we dive into it.”

Jovie rolled her eyes. “I’ve already made friends with two monsters, so let’s get on with it.”

The bat seemed to consider if she was lying or not, but with a shrug of its hairy, thick shoulders, it extended a claw-like hand. “Preston the Bat, at your service.”

Edward Kingston, Earl of Wellington, lives by a strict moral code: indulge in pleasure.

Edward lets his family represent the Kingston name with proper responsibility, while he secures the title of "Overall Cad". However, he makes an irreversible mistake by obliging one small favor, a dance lesson.

Morgan Sinclair needs a tolerable husband. Quickly! A season away with London's elite Bon Ton should help. Her aunt, the duchess, will make Morgan the perfect debutante. Many lessons are necessary first, but her future depends on it. Morgan and her charismatic dancing master, the Earl of Wellington, find themselves in a situation neither of them expected. Love.

The notorious Kingston's have a turbulent past of mystery and betrayal, but Morgan Sinclair has her own secrets looming. The couple must learn to navigate unprecedented obstacles...

...if their relationship is to survive.

By the time the coach pulled up the drive at Governors square, Morgan just wanted to take a nap. It was tiresome work being a grateful pin-cushion. She climbed the stone steps behind the duchess and her mother, ready to take her leave when they got inside. But before her foot had time to land on the last step, a butler stepped forward and handed her a calling card.

Morgan read it, smiled, and went straight to the sitting room where she found Eloise. A slice of lemon cake in both hands.

“I am so jealous!” the small blonde exclaimed once they were alone. “Have you any idea how lucky you are?”

Morgan let out a long-overdue sigh as she plopped down next to her new friend. “Yes, I have been informed. Madam LeMore is the best, and I am akin to a toad in the color yellow.”

“A toad!” Eloise gasped. “Did she really compare you to that?”

“At least she was being honest. I will take her assessment, gladly.” Morgan grinned. “Especially if she can get me looking half as fashionable as you.”

“You think me fashionable?” Eloise asked, genuinely shocked.

“Oh, Eloise, surely you have been told that petite blondes are the fancy?” She smiled, seeing the blush wash over her friend’s cheeks.

“Well, I have heard, but compared to you, I look mousy and not nearly as…dramatic. Why, your dance card will stay full the entire season,” Eloise said affirmatively.

“Dramatic?” Morgan considered the descriptive. There were certainly less appealing words. She rather liked ‘dramatic’. It made her think of something exotic. Or dangerous.

Eloise nodded. “Yes, dramatic. You do not look like you will blend into the wallpaper. Instead, you look like you could compete with it.”

Morgan considered her new friend for a moment. “That is probably the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.” She smiled, then tried to look serious. “Now, do not ever call yourself mousy. You are lovely, whereas…”

It just keeps getting better and better. After the first book I knew I was hooked, but now...omg I have to know what happens next.

Whether this is your first in the series or you're reading them in order you will not be disappointed with this one. Edward is the second loose canon of the Kingston family. A year or so prior to this story we met sister, Greyland in Under His Protection (The White Rose Trilogy Book 1) . Where she is rebellious and wild Edward is secretive and hot headed. There is a connection between all of the siblings but I really enjoyed the relationship between Edward and Greyland.

Under His Guidance is the second in the trilogy -- and does as the first delivering romance, passion (some very steamy!) and fast paced action. The reader is given a mere introduction to the characters in the first book, and it is here, in the second, where we are made to fall in love with them, for their spirit, beauty and devotion to each other. The villain is a true baddy -- and you can't help but love to hate him. Set in beautiful England in an exciting Victorian time often complicated by strict social boundaries - the reader will love the story of how a young woman tries to navigate her way out of an almost impossible situation.

The world is ever-changing.

Most men change with it, other men refuse to adjust, and a few men move the world with them. Whether in primitive days or the ends of civilization, these poor fools find themselves in the worst straits their lifetime had to offer. A gardener. A political writer. A prisoner. A slave. A detective.

They’ve all made their beds in the world, but some aren’t ready to lie in them just yet. Some will drag the world down with them if they can.

The rain started as a gentle mist at first, but it grew to a steady thrum against the pavement as the streetlights buzzed and flickered to life. Mark drew his heavy duster closer to shrug off the spatter and the wisps of New England winds that threatened an early winter. Even when he wasn’t running around as Agent Aftershock, Mark enjoyed the security the duster’s built-in armor offered. The glob of hair gel with which he had tamed his short hair threatened abandonment, so he threw his long legs into full drive as he jogged from the bus station towards the address scrawled on the letter he had folded neatly into his hip pocket.

And he marveled at the rain. This Earth was both like and unlike Methaldian Earth. He smiled a little.

Firstly, this is a sequel, which I didn't realize, but aside from the first story they all stand alone quite well. The stories are imaginative and varied, crossing and blending genres, taking place in various alternative world's that can be almost identical to ours or wildly fantastical.
